NIDDK Releases Research Recommendations on Diabetes Heterogeneity

The NIDDK Working Group of Council on Heterogeneity of Diabetes has released a new Report outlining research recommendations, developed with contributions from global investigators and NIDDK staff.

Dr. Wei Wang, dkNET MPI and Chair of the Data-Science Cross-Cutting Theme Focus Group for the Heterogeneity of Diabetes Working Group of the Advisory Council, played a key role in contributing to the recommendations.

Building on the 2021 NIDDK Strategic Plan for Research, the Report highlights opportunities to advance understanding of the biological and environmental factors driving diabetes. These insights will guide future research to better define diabetes subtypes, improve treatment strategies, and accelerate progress in prevention and care.
